A look behind the scenes

Hi, I am Nicole – I provide the business support for our superb team of consultants. I have been working with the team since it comprised just Cath and Linda and it is amazing to see just how much the business has grown and developed in the last 7 years. Some of you may have spoken to or emailed me as I am available for any questions or queries you may have regarding our training or products. A few will have met me as I sometimes help out on our bigger courses and conferences to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. The most important aspect of my role is to ensure teaching staff get the information they need, when they need it.

My background is not education – I spent 20 years as a buyer working for a variety of department stores, mail order catalogues and, for a brief time, a TV shopping channel – so working with teachers and schools was a completely new experience. But now I have an insight into the teaching profession and as a mum of 3, it is amazing to see the skill, enthusiasm and commitment from our consultants and the schools they work with, in making our children’s learning journey so rewarding. I am so proud to be part of a team that puts this at the heart of everything they do.

I have always been an avid reader; I think immersing yourself in a book is great therapy, working in an environment where books are the focus is a real bonus in my role. The office is always full of interesting books for children of all ages and to see our Pathways to Write units progress from the inspiration of a single text to a complete unit of work is amazing. The experience and collaboration of the team are fundamental to each carefully crafted unit and it is lovely for me to be able to occasionally contribute as all experience is valued in the team.
