awareness of the phonic skills taught in EYFS & KS1 and the pedagogy to support the application of these skills to ensure smooth transition into KS2.
Through the use of an exciting and engaging text, teachers will leave with a variety of activities to recap and apply previous phonics learning to ensure that pupils are ready to begin the Year 3 & 4 curriculum.
This course will:
- Provide an overview of previously taught phonics skills and knowledge
- Share best practice in terms of the teaching of phonics and early reading
- Give ideas and strategies to incorporate phonics revision into LKS2 teaching
