This course is aimed at Y6 teachers and subject leaders to support school teams with preparing Y6 pupils for end of key stage expectations. This two-part course will focus on both reading and writing.
In the reading part of the course, reading fluency, appropriate texts, strategies and preparation for KS2 reading SATs will be explored. For writing, the course will detail writing outcomes, coverage of skills and ways to prepare for writing assessment and moderation. Quality texts will be shared with appropriate grammar features for Y6 pupils. Standards and expectations will be examined to equip teachers with necessary knowledge.
