This text based 5 session English planning uses poems recited with actions to explore rhyme and vocabulary. In this unit pupils investigate minibeasts and habitats, using both drawing and mime to help develop vocabulary. They add their ideas to a class poem, taking the opportunity for work on initial sounds and CVC words.

All aspects of poetry from the National curriculum in reading, spoken language and writing composition will be covered across the full set Au1-Su2.
