This text based 5 session English planning uses traditional nursery rhymes. These units are designed to enhance aspects of early phonics development: body percussion, rhythm and rhyme and voice sounds. There is an emphasis on reciting rhyme and exploring the narrative through play as well as sequencing, drawing and matching activities.

All aspects of poetry from the national curriculum in reading, spoken language and writing composition will be covered across the full set Au1-Su2.
