This text based 5 session English planning uses poetry linked to fruit and vegetables to teach rhyming strings and phonic knowledge as well as an appreciation of humour and jokes. Speaking and listening skills are developed through riddles and games.

All aspects of poetry from the national curriculum in reading, spoken language and writing composition will be covered across the full set Au1-Su2.
