Pathways to Read

Pathways to Read is an innovative, exciting and inclusive sequence of learning which engages children with the many aspects of the National Curriculum through high-quality texts.
In these testing times, reading is an essential resource for escape and the planning units and slides that the Literacy Company provide, allow access to many wonderful worlds. Our children get to discover these worlds from the comfort of their classroom in a low-threat, high-impact environment. I would highly recommend these units to any teacher - they provide your students with a pathway to learning ... and imagination.

The Literacy Company – Catch-Up Units

‘Wow!! The Literacy Company have worked their magic again to develop a set of amazing Writing ‘catch up’ units. The units use high quality tests such as Of thee I sing: a letter to my daughters - all linked to Black Lives matter and they pick up on some of the key learning elements that need revision from the previous year. Teachers at Kelsall enjoy the structure of the units and have developed their own creative responses to them. I am so pleased to work in partnership with the Literacy Company. Their units of work are always of a high quality and help to support teacher workload. Thank you to an amazing team.’

Y6 Reading Revision – November 19

As a new to Y6 teacher this course gave lots of practical ideas to allow children to revise reading skills in a fun and meaningful way not just pass tests. Brilliant session and the shared knowledge really supported the session. Lots of time to reflect and talk. Lots of real learning ideas. Thank you Christine, your knowledge is inspiring.

Pathways to Write

‘Pathways to Write has transformed the way in which we teach English. Our children are more engaged, are writing more, reading more and love learning. It has also helped to ensure our English curriculum is progressive and takes on a mastery approach to developing writing, and we are seeing a real difference already.’

Pathways to Write

‘The planning already seems to be having an impact in our school after one term. The children are much clearer in what they need to include in their writing and I love the way the planning returns to teaching points to consolidate learning. The books are really engaging too and allow for lots of links with reading skills.’

Pathways to Progress

"The Pathways to Progress materials are a great resource. I like that it can be used as a standalone program, but also that it supports our current Pathways to Write planning. The children are enjoying the sessions and are actively engaged in them. Having all the resources available, including ready-made subject knowledge videos, means that I am able to set up the intervention with ease."
