Resources to support story telling

This year’s World Book day aim was to share a million stories. Why? Because the number of children regularly hearing stories being read to them is rapidly in decline and now we have a chance to do something about it. We all have our favourites but it can be difficult Read more…

The importance of telling stories

We often start our reading courses by asking delegates to think about their favourite books. As well as being a bit of an ice-breaker this is also a great insight into how we view ourselves as readers and the journey we have been on. For many, the earliest memories are Read more…

📈This very nicely presented survey from @Newsround on ‘Coronavirus and UK kids’ could be a good entry point for encouraging children to talk about their experiences, it looks back over the past year and how children have been feeling.

@TheLCUK I put a lot of it down to the high quality texts you base each unit on. They have transformed how we teach English. I couldn’t believe how much my y6s loved The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde!
