Every programme, training session and piece of consultancy work we deliver is driven by one goal — to make a tangible difference for teachers and pupils. We strive to:
Provide friendly, expert consultancy
Deliver engaging, evidence-informed training
Share deep knowledge of English teaching
Inspire teachers and pupils through rich, high-quality texts
Lead with innovation in literacy education
From classroom support to curriculum design, we aim to empower teachers to feel confident, inspired and well-equipped to raise literacy standards.
It’s incredible to look back on how far we’ve come. From our beginnings supporting local schools in Cheshire to working with 1,100 Pathways schools across the UK and internationally, our growth has been driven by collaboration and a shared passion for literacy.
This year, we reached some major milestones:
1,100 Pathways schools using our programmes
9 consultants supporting schools nationwide and abroad
Partnerships with 169 multi-academy trusts and 129 local authorities
Pathways Literacy now used in 16 countries, reaching over 72,000 pupils
At the heart of our impact are the Pathways Literacy programmes — designed to bring consistency, progression and creativity to English teaching:
Pathways to Write – Developing writing, vocabulary and reading through the mastery approach.
Pathways to Read – Building comprehension skills and fostering fluent, confident readers.
Pathways to Spell – A complete spelling curriculum for Years 1–6.
Pathways to Progress – Closing the gap for pupils working just below age-related expectations.
Pathways to Poetry – Encouraging playfulness with language and deepening pupils’ love of words.
Each programme is built around high-quality texts and a mastery learning model, ensuring all pupils achieve depth and fluency.
This year marks an exciting development: the launch of our brand-new Pathways Platform – a central hub giving schools easy access to all resources, CPD materials and leadership documents with just a few clicks.
The platform allows for smoother navigation, automatic updates and a more connected experience for schools using our programmes. It represents a major step forward in making our support even more accessible and responsive to teachers’ needs. This also creates a great forward motion towards our sustainability targets for the future.
In 2024–25, we provided bespoke consultancy and training to 219 schools across 36 local authorities — from large MATs to small primaries and special schools.
Our work has included:
In-school and cluster moderation
Modelled lessons and learning walks
Subject leader support and planning guidance
Whole-school CPD and MAT cluster training
Schools consistently tell us that our consultants’ support has led to clearer whole-school approaches, improved confidence among English leads and greater consistency in teaching and assessment.

“The impact on children has been phenomenal… Pathways Literacy meets the needs of every child, ensuring everyone achieves new skills and knowledge from each session.”
— St Basil’s Primary
“Our children are more enthused than ever. Pathways to Read and Write have transformed literacy at our school.”
— St Alban’s Primary
“We now have an army of enthusiastic, lifelong readers.”
— Chapelford Village Primary
It’s feedback like this that reminds us why we do what we do: to see teachers empowered and pupils thriving.
Data from our partner schools shows strong and sustained progress:
St Augustine’s, Salford: Writing attainment rose from 37% in 2022 to 76% in 2025.
St Catherine’s, Wigan: Writing increased from 77% to 83% over two years.
Horn’s Mill, Cheshire: Reading climbed from 79% to 86% in one year.
These outcomes demonstrate the lasting impact of a consistent, mastery-based approach to literacy teaching. For more data, download the impact report here.
This year has been packed with achievements and joyful moments, from winning the ERA 2025 Award for Supplier of the Year, to creative poetry projects with Storyhouse and Theatre Porto and even a little friendly competition in the Countess Duck Race!
We also hosted our first Flagship School event, collaborated with the EEF on a new research trial, and continued to grow as a team – supporting each other through training, creativity and sharing plenty of laughter.
As we move into the next academic year, we’re excited to continue growing our partnerships, expanding our international reach and deepening our impact through research and innovation. Our focus remains the same: inspiring teachers and pupils through the power of language and learning.
Thank you to every school, trust, partner and colleague who has been part of this journey. Here’s to the next chapter!
