Goldfish Boy is the beautiful story of Matthew Corbin whose crippling OCD often leaves him feeling alone and isolated. Matthew spends his days observing life from his bedroom window where he scrupulously notes down his neighbours’ habits. When a toddler next door suddenly disappears, Matthew’s observations may be the key to solving the mystery.  

These reading units comprise 6 weeks of whole class reading plans focusing on the teaching of key reading skills from the national curriculum. Each week provides an opportunity for pupils to develop reading fluency and to practise prediction, clarifying of vocabulary and retrieval skills. There is also a weekly mastery focus for explicit teaching of summarising, distinguishing between fact and opinion and identifying how language, structure and presentation contribute towards meaning.
