This is a shared reading unit of work to support Y6 revision towards the KS2 reading test. It is based around the spell-binding book ‘A Place Called Perfect’ by Helena Duggan.

A Place Called Perfect is the story of Violet who lives in a very strange town called Perfect. Everyone who lives in Perfect has to wear special glasses to stop them from going blind. She realises something weird is going on…and then she meets a boy and the adventure begins.

This unit builds skills required for the Y6 reading test through an engaging text with links to poetry and non-fiction using a whole-class shared reading approach across 10 fully resourced sessions.

The supporting texts for the units of work can be purchased at Peters Ltd.
